coffin nail culatta leather journal

the second iteration of our leather journal has been meticulously hand cut and sewn from a butter soft full grain washed 1.2mm vegetable tanned culatta. the leather offers a sporadic fiber structure with an array of textures and scarring which are highlighted throughout the piece. the journal is available in a variety of finishes from black, dirty tan, iron dyed, bone white and natural. the journal features a hand forged wrought iron coffin nail closure to the front which will rust with use over time and react with the leather creating rich rust nuances.

each journal features 80 hand sewn pages of handmade khadi paper crafted from 100% long fibered cotton rag. each page is 150gsm, acid free, with a medium surface and a deckle edge. the journals are suitable for watercolour and all painting, drawing and writing media. every journal comes in a handmade cow leather pouch.

- use and abuse me
- do not be gentle
- detergents should not be used to remove stains.

applying protective cream:
- apply a thin coat of the cream on a soft and clean cotton cloth
- spread it evenly in a circular motion over the surface of the leather
- if the leather is extremely dry – repeat the process up to two times within four hours
- the protective cream provides a shine and also gently darkens the leather
- do not apply the cream directly on the leather
