the leather vanity case has been hand cut from a 2.3mm vegetable tanned italian culatta leather in a single piece pattern construction and wet moulded into shape. culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and firm temper. the case features our signature blood red dye treatment using a combination of an 18 month brewed iron dye and water based red top coat. the single piece pattern is held in place by overlocked hand stitched sides using a hand waxed 0.9mm japanese linen thread. a hidden handle can be utilised on the lid of the case with snap buttons and a wrought iron coffin nail closure. each piece comes in a handmade cow leather pouch.
