“for when the fat lady sings” leather cigar case, has been crafted for that celebratory moment. cut from a supple full grain 2.6mm vegetable tanned, washed and tumbled reverse horse culatta leather, the cigar holder is finished with a distressed flat matte rotten corpse black dye treatment.
vegetable tanned leather is an ancient artisanal process that hinges on the delicate balance between timing and temperature. like a fine aged whiskey time is key, the careful balance of time allows the natural tannins such as tree bark to infuse, yielding rich colours and unparalleled durability. controlled cooling plays a crucial role in achieving that coveted texture and suppleness you come to expect.
crafted with a three piece pattern the cigar case features a single main compartment with deconstructed side panels and a floating raw cut stone washed ramie lining. each of the stitch holes have been individually spaced and punched by hand, with each stitch meticulously implemented in a tonal 0.65mm hand waxed japanese linen thread without the use of machines.
the compact case features a triple attachment construction. the rear strap allows you to thread a belt or bag strap through the center and loops over at the top to enable the case to be carried in hand or clipped. a detachable key clip with distressed military clips form the third attachment. hand forged .925 sterling silver details to the front, acting as a closure for the strap fastening and a small accent mirrored on the keychain. have been slow oxidised over a 10hr period and then sanded to highlight the details.
each piece comes in a hand made leather package.
