the minimal macbook sleeve has been cut from a full grain 3.2mm vegetable tanned, washed and barrel tumbled tuscan horse culatta leather with a rotten corpse mac black dye treatment.
culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper.
vegetable tanned leather is an ancient artisanal process that hinges on the delicate balance between timing and temperature. like a fine aged whiskey time is key, the careful balance of time allows the natural tannins such as tree bark to infuse, yielding rich colours and unparalleled durability. controlled cooling plays a crucial role in achieving that coveted texture and suppleness you come to expect.
crafted from two pieces of reversed culatta leather, showcasing the cordovan shadow details, while the interior utilises the rich grain of the flesh side. the macbook sleeve has been hand stitched with a 0.65mm hand waxed and dyed japanese linen thread, without the use of machines.
