this iteration of our closed seam wallet has been hand cut from a reversed 3mm vegetable tanned horse culatta leather with a visible layer of subdermal cordovan and a two layer absinthe object dyed finish.
culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper. vegetable tanning is a traditional method of treating the hide using natural extracts such as tree bark, for a truly artisanal finish.
crafted entirely by hand without the use of machines, the wallet features a closed seam construction to the front, with a large note compartment and multiple card slots to the interior in a soft kudu leather. the hand waxed 0.65mm tonal japanese linen thread has been used for the overlocked sides and closed seam construction.
each piece comes in a handmade leather pouch.
