this iteration of our closed seam wallet has been hand cut from a reversed 3mm vegetable tanned horse culatta leather with a visible layer of subdermal cordovan and a rotten corpse matte black object dyed finish. culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper. vegetable tanning is a traditional method of treating the hide using natural extracts such as tree bark, for a truly artisanal finish.
crafted entirely by hand without the use of machines, the wallet features a closed seam construction to the front, with a large note compartment and multiple card slots to the interior in a mix of horse and ostrich leather. a transparent horse leather pocket is suitable for holding your ID and compliments the array of textures from the opposite card pockets. the hand waxed 0.65mm tonal japanese linen thread has been used for the overlocked sides and closed seam construction.
an ostrich leather coin pocket to the rear of the note compartment runs the full width of the wallet and sits at 5cm high for easy access to the contents. The pocket is fastened with a 10cm riri m4 zipper which is adorned with a hand forged custom .925 sterling silver zipper pull, with a 10 hour slow oxidised finish.
each piece comes in a handmade leather pouch.
