the highly textured closed seam wallet has been hand cut from a reversed 2.5mm vegetable tanned horse culatta leather with a visible layer of subdermal cordovan and a matte black aniline dyed finish. culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper. vegetable tanning is a traditional method of treating the hide using natural extracts such as tree bark, for a truly artisanal finish.
crafted entirely by hand without the use of machines, the wallet features a closed seam construction to the front, with a large note compartment and multiple card slots to the interior in a mix of horse, salmon and ostrich leather. a transparent horse leather pocket is suitable for holding your ID and compliments the array of textures from the opposite card pockets. the hand waxed 0.65mm tonal japanese linen thread has been cold dyed in a dry blood solution offering rich red tones.
each piece comes in a handmade leather pouch.
