black iron rings culatta leather belt

the double layered belt has been hand cut from a sturdy washed and tumbled 3.5mm vegetable tanned horse culatta leather on the topside and a 1.3mm washed culatta on the reverse with a rotten corpse matte black dyed finish. 

culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper. 

vegetable tanning is a traditional method of treating the hide using natural extracts such as tree bark, for a truly artisanal finish.

the leather belt features two small hand forged iron rings for the fastening with an ash matte black finish. The double layer of leather makes the belt reversible, delivering a multifunctional accessory.

tonal 0.65mm hand waxed japanese linen thread has been used to connect the two deconstructed panels and double layers, sewn without the use of machines.

each piece comes in a handmade leather pouch.

applying protective cream:
- apply a thin coat of the cream on a soft and clean cotton cloth
- spread it evenly in a circular motion over the surface of the leather
- if the leather is extremely dry – repeat the process up to two times within four hours
- the protective cream provides a shine and also gently darkens the leather
- do not apply the cream directly on the leather
