our iteration of the classic 6 pocket bifold wallet has been hand cut from a butter soft 3mm vegetable tanned horse culatta leather with a visible layer of subdermal cordovan and a rotten corpse matte black object dyed finish.
culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper.
vegetable tanned leather is an ancient artisanal process that hinges on the delicate balance between timing and temperature. like a fine aged whiskey time is key, the careful balance of time allows the natural tannins such as tree bark to infuse, yielding rich colours and unparalleled durability. controlled cooling plays a crucial role in achieving that coveted texture and suppleness you come to expect.
crafted entirely by hand without the use of machines, the wallet features a classic bifold silhouette, with a large note compartment and multiple card slots to the interior in a supple kudu leather. hand waxed 0.65mm japanese linen thread has been used for the overlocked sides.
