the prison keys keychain has been hand cut from a butter soft full grain washed 3.2mm vegetable tanned reversed culatta leather with a rich blood red dye treatment implemented over 24 hours. culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper. vegetable tanning is a traditional method of treating the hide using natural extracts such as tree bark, for a truly artisanal and robust finish. the leather has been treated with an oil dye to give a distressed worn in appearance.
the keychain features a single piece pattern construction, hand sewn with our signature overlock stitch using a blood dyed 0.65mm hand waxed japanese linen thread. a distressed and corroded swivel clip allows you to easily and conveniently attach the keychain to a bag, belt or trousers and is complimented by hand forged iron hardware and three hand cut, shaped and hammered 3mm 10 hour slow oxidised .925 sterling silver key rings. the keychain is finished off with a 2mm .925 sterling silver wrap detail.
each piece comes in a handmade leather pouch.
