the patch work cross body bag has been cut from a butter soft full grain 1mm vegetable tanned, washed and tumbled kangaroo leather with a tight grain, and an aniline rotten corpse matte black dye treatment.
vegetable tanning is a traditional method of treating the hide using natural extracts such as tree bark, for a truly artisanal finish.
crafted from a multiple piece pattern construction the bag has visible hammered flat seams to the interior that have been hand sewn with our signature overlock stitch in a tonal 0.65mm hand waxed Japanese linen thread over a 50 hour period without the use of machines. the patch work panels are sewn together with a closed seam construction and a scar stitched top stitch.
the unlined interior features a small patch pocket with a 10cm riri zipper adorned with a custom 10 hour slow oxidised zipper pull. the flap showcases an open seam construction with an angled finish to the edge.
a double layered triple section deconstructed strap consisting of a kangaroo leather and horse leather is triple stitched by hand and slides through double hand forged iron rings for easy adjustment. the bag is finished off with a hand forged iron ring and shank closure.
each piece comes in a hand made leather package.
