the leather gloves have been hand cut from a butter soft full grain washed and tumbled 1.4mm vegetable tanned horse culatta leather, and finished with a rotten corpse matte black finish. a meticulous selection of cuts, showcase and highlight the natural grain of the leather.
culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper. vegetable tanning is a traditional method of treating the hide using natural extracts such as tree bark, for a truly artisanal and robust finish.
hand crafted over a 35 hour period without the use of machines, the leather gloves feature a quadruple pattern construction and have been hand sewn with a tonal hand waxed 0.65mm japanese linen thread. an open seam construction forms the panels of the brutalist silhouette allowing for a greater freedom of movement.
wet moulded on the hand over a 4 hour period delivers a sculptured aesthetic. the gloves are available with or without a custom 10 hour slow oxidised hand carved .999 sterling silver button, lined or unlined.
each piece comes in a handmade leather pouch.
