the wedge cardholder has been hand cut from a butter soft full grain washed and tumbled 1.6mm vegetable tanned albino horse culatta leather. culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper. vegetable tanning is a traditional method of treating the hide using natural extracts such as tree bark, for a truly artisanal and robust finish.
born from the intention of reducing waste from the off cuts in the atelier, the cardholder features 5 compartments with the ability to hold up to 16 cards as well as folded notes.
the leather features an ice grey object dye treatment to create an array of grey nuances against the albino colour of the leather. a hand waxed 0.65mm japanese linen thread has been used for the overlocked sides forming the pockets.
