the unlined shoulder box bag has been hand cut from a butter soft 3.2mm vegetable tanned reverse horse culatta leather with a visible layer of subdermal cordovan and a rotten corpse matte black object dyed finish, implemented over a 72 hour period.

culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper.

vegetable tanned leather is an ancient artisanal process that hinges on the delicate balance between timing and temperature. like a fine aged whiskey time is key, the careful balance of time allows the natural tannins such as tree bark to infuse, yielding rich colours and unparalleled durability. controlled cooling plays a crucial role in achieving that coveted texture and suppleness you come to expect.

crafted with a triple piece pattern construction without the use of machines the leather shoulder bag is hand sewn with our signature overlocked side panels forming the geometric shape of the body in a tonal 0.65mm hand waxed Japanese linen thread over a 30 hour period. each of the stitch holes have been individually spaced and punched by hand. 

a riri open end zipper closure to the top of the bag adds additional security. the zipper slider is adorned with a hand forged organic form .925 sterling silver zipper pull and ring that has been slow oxidised over a 10 hour period. the solid silver ring allows you to attach keychains or charms for added personalisation.

the unlined interior showcases the flat hammered side seams that sit in juxtaposition to the double layered zipper pocket, adorned with a riri zipper and a hand forged .925 sterling silver zipper pull that has been slow oxidised over a 10hr period.

the bag comes with a double layered deconstructed detachable culatta leather shoulder strap with a hand forged iron hook to adjust the length. two heavy duty lobster clips with a heat distressed patina, connect to the bag via two raw iron rectangles. our signature double pronged lock key forms the front closure mirroring the leathers natural grain through it’s surface texture.

applying protective cream:
- apply a thin coat of the cream on a soft and clean cotton cloth
- spread it evenly in a circular motion over the surface of the leather
- if the leather is extremely dry – repeat the process up to two times within four hours
- the protective cream provides a shine and also gently darkens the leather
- do not apply the cream directly on the leather
