the closed seam wallet has been hand cut from a reversed 2.5mm vegetable tanned matte black horse culatta leather with a visible layer of subdermal cordovan. culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper. vegetable tanning is a traditional method of treating the hide using natural extracts such as tree bark, for a truly artisanal finish.
crafted entirely by hand without the use of machines, the wallet features a closed seam construction to the front, with a large note compartment and multiple card slots to the interior in a mix of horse and ostrich leather. a transparent horse leather pocket is suitable for holding your ID and compliments the array of textures from the opposite card pockets. a contrasting hand waxed 0.65mm japanese linen thread has been used for the overlocked sides and the closed seam construction.
each piece comes in a handmade leather pouch.
