the leather journal has been meticulously hand cut and sewn from a butter soft full grain washed 1.2mm vegetable tanned culatta. the leather offers a sporadic fiber structure with an array of textures and scarring which are highlighted throughout the piece. the journal is available in a variety of finishes from black, dirty tan, iron dyed and natural (pictured) with a hand waxed top layer to protect the leather. the journal features an 8cm hand hammered iron shank closure to the front which will rust with use over time and react with the leather creating rich rust nuances.
each journal features 80 hand sewn pages of handmade khadi paper made from 100% long fibered cotton rag. each page is 150gsm, acid free, with a medium surface and a deckle edge. the journals are suitable for watercolour and all painting, drawing and writing media. every journal comes in a handmade cow leather pouch.
