the belt has been hand cut from a butter soft washed and tumbled 2.5mm vegetable tanned matte black horse culatta leather. culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper.
the leather features a pyroclastic treatment adding layers of texture slowly built up over 28 days, depicting fragments of rock erupted from a volcano. over time, the rock like texture will crumble and crack revealing the cordovan culatta encased beneath.
the belt features a hand forged, hammered and burnt solid bronze buckle and an asymmetrical disconnected section, hand sewn with a tonal hand waxed 0.65mm tonal japanese linen thread.
