the versatile pouch can be worn on the shoulder, across the body or round the neck and has been cut from a butter soft full grain 1.5mm vegetable tanned, washed and tumbled horse culatta leather with a visible layer of subdermal cordovan.
culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper. vegetable tanning is a traditional method of treating the hide using natural extracts such as tree bark, for a truly artisanal finish.
crafted with a triple piece pattern construction, the bag is hand sewn with our signature overlocked sides in a tonal 0.65mm hand waxed Japanese linen thread over a 10 hour period without the use of machines. the unlined interior has been waxed to avoided leather particles getting into the charger ports.
a detachable double layer carry handle can be adjusted via a raw iron slider and attaches to the bags small hand forged iron ring at the rear which doubles as a handle with a hand distressed heavy duty lobster clip. a smaller carry handle is also supplied for a quick grab and carry. the bag is finished off with an angular iron tab to hold the bags flap closed.
the leather has been hand dyed using an iron solution that has been slowly brewing in the atelier for 18 months. the solution reacts with the leathers natural tannins creating an array of deep inky hues.
the pouch is big enough to carry sunglass, a smartphone, a cardholder and keys.
each piece comes in a hand made leather package.
