the compact cross body bag has been cut from a butter soft full grain 2.5mm vegetable tanned, washed and tumbled horse culatta leather with a visible layer of subdermal cordovan, and an aniline rotten corpse matte black dye treatment.
culatta is a special cut combined of the rear just above the cordovan, the belly middles and the hind shanks, offering a dense structure, tight grain and medium to firm temper. vegetable tanning is a traditional method of treating the hide using natural extracts such as tree bark, for a truly artisanal finish.
crafted with a single piece pattern construction, the bag is hand sewn with our signature overlocked sides in a tonal 0.65mm hand waxed Japanese linen thread over a 36 hour period without the use of machines. the unlined interior features a full length riri zipper pocket with a custom 10 hour slow oxidised zipper pull, a large open pocket and a secondary smaller pocket.
an accentuated rear center carry handle is complimented by an inverted cross stitching detail sewn with hand dyed japanese linen thread. double layered deconstructed straps are attached at the rear with hand forged iron hardware and can be adjusted with the hand forged and hammered raw iron hook.
the bag is finished off with a two way m6 riri zipper closure adorned with custom .925 sterling silver zipper pulls, that have been slow oxidised over a 10 hour period.
each piece comes in a hand made leather package.
